COW: Hey, Tessa, what is your favorite food?
TESSA: Ice cream! Especially homemade! Any kind except coffee... yuck! Who thought that was a good idea?!

COW: And your favorite dessert?
TESSA: Still ice cream. Definitely ice cream.
Although, I haven't yet met a dessert I DIDN'T like...

COW: Apparently picking one thing for dessert was much easier. How about your favorite amusement park ride?
TESSA: Hmmm, I don't go to amusement parks often, but I like medium-sized roller coasters. Not the REALLY BIG ones... those are scary! Fast enough to be fun, but not so fast that my eyebrows fly off. That's how you know its too fast- when you come back, but your eyebrows don't.

COW: I can never fit in ANY of those rides. Ok, so tell us about YOUR worst injury as a little kid.
TESSA: So once upon a time I was playing football at a gym day thing with some of my friends and there was this moment where a few of us ran together all around the football. I was coming into the pile just as a friend was jerking his head out of the pile, and the back of his head met the front of my face at high speed... and my nose graciously took the brunt of the collision. There was much blood, a very busted lip, and a very broken nose- but I still finished the game!

COW: So how about your favorite song from church...and your favorite Bible verse?
TESSA: My favorite church song would have to be the old hymn Come Thou Fount, especially when sung around a campfire! Actually, I like most church/worship songs best around a campfire, or anytime people are singing to Jesus and they really mean it :) My favorite Bible verse right now is Ephesians 2:10, because it reminds me that God has put me here for a reason that He already has planned out! It's so cool to think that the God of the universe is willing to use us in His mighty plans!

COW: Tell us about your background in Children's Ministry? What has God placed on your heart that made you desire to minster to children?
TESSA: I went to Giant Cow as a kid way back in the day (before it was even the Cow!), and then volunteered a LOT through my teenage years. Traveling and serving with it was one of the biggest things that helped me really understand that my relationship with Jesus was personal and real- more than just going to church and being nice to people (though there's nothing word with those things!). I also developed some great friendships with other folks who were passionate about serving Christ and living out what they believe, and I'm still friends with many of them! Those two things are a huge part of my desire to continue in this ministry- I've seen the ways God has used it to shape my life from a young age, and Im humbled to be in a position that He can use me to impact kids in the same way. My background also includes some crazy mission trips all over the world, and working at kids camps for the past few years, doing everything from leading cabins to teaching horse riding lessons, and even being camp health officer for summer! I love being a part of God's work in people's lives! :)
